Gina + Mike's Mt. Hood Wedding

At the end of last summer I had a total treat. I flew to Oregon to photograph Gina and Mike’s wedding. It was amazing! I was totally floored by how lush it was the west was. The shades of green we totally enchanting and it was like being in a fairyland. I secretly have a love affair with ferns…and this was the place for my romance to flourish.

I knew this wedding was going to be so much fun because I had worked with Gina and Mike before for their engagement shoot. They had wanted it on top of a mountain so we went to Whiteface, and now after being to Oregon I see why they wanted to incorporate mountains….every where you turn there is an other peak looming over you.

The wedding weekend took place at the Mt. Hood Resort, which a scenic 1 hr rd from Portland. I was so thrilled when they told me they wanted to do a first look. This resort has so many locations for portrait possibilities. Especially a huge volcanic rock that is in the center of the golf course. It has a large cedar tree growing out of it which enhances it beauty. (Thank goodness for the golf carts that totted us around in, such time saver)

They day started off so relaxing. I honestly love this time during a wedding day. Watching the excitement build, the special moments with parents and friends. We met up for the first look and then the day came a live and we enjoyed every minute. Portraits around the grounds, ceremony with breathtaking mountain views, more portraits, cocktail hour and a great party celebrate their love!

I am happy to say that I spent a few extra days there sight seeing. I cant wait to go back!
